With his faithfull guitar and his good old hat, he performed the song Freedom , in a cosy lounge in the north of Paris. Curtis grew up in Michigan and spent his childhood roaming through the country with his parents. He was raised on the classics of Otis Redding, Sam Cooke or even BB King and says beeing inspired by Gospel; his mother was a skilled singer too. « It’s when you go through the life’s hard times That you can accomplish something beautiful. It’s the story of the Blacks in the United states, what happened to us during slavery is the root of Blues; R&B, Soul, Country and Rock. » tells us Curtis when we asked about his inspiration and the strengh of his songs His first album shows many facets: the heartbreaking opptimism of «Next Time», the sad Blues of «Castaway» or even the nostalgia of « Keep On Shining » which might be Curtis‘s Story.
